The Stand were a modern 1990s power pop guitar band with a sound that displayed their penchant for catchy melodies and pop aggression. With a tip of the hat to the neo- punk movement, the Stand leaves many '90s bands behind with this strong release from beyond. Mixing styles championed by Elvis Costello, The B-52s and the Clash, this group hardly sounds like the rest of their contemporaries.

“The Rain” has a raw energy that is harnessed with an infectious chorus and edgy guitars that force your feet to inexplicably move in time with the music. The same can be said of “Round and Round” which creatively describes the hopeless search of the lost who run in circles “round and round/till we all found down”. And “Holding Back” with the cries of desire a '90s version of John's exclamations on the Isle of Patmos 1900 years ago. The subject of defining right and wrong in a culture that regards both as ambiguous is this theme of “Look At The Way” “Fallen Tear” and “Believe” and have a '90s college radio feel to them.
